Outreach & Evangelization Commission
Communication Committee
As a parish Community we want to share our story. Often we run the risk of our best remaining secret. Thus we created the Communications Committee.
Purpose of the Ministry:
To increase and improve communication between the parish and our parishioners, and between us and our neighbors, as well as the greater community, so as to maximize our efforts to fulfill our parish mission.
Specific Tasks of the Ministry
- Building bridges between the many ministries in our parish by exploring ways to communicate info among all groups.
- Providing assistance to other ministries in handling their communications needs
- Directly create and manage select means of communication for the parish, including parish website, parish Facebook, parish bulletin, etc.
- Make information readily available for ministers – scheduling, etc.
- Make information readily available for those who wish to join ministries, participate in projects, gather for specific events, etc.
- Make St. Bart’s visible enough for those searching for a church home to easily find us.
- Develop materials and strategy for promoting parish and ministry events and attracting new members
- Pictorial Directory: Every few years, coordinate and capture our parishioners in photos.
- Archives – St. Bart’s celebrated her 100 years in 2010. It’s important that we continue to safeguard and keep records of important events in the parish, including printed materials, photographs, artifacts, etc.
- Take pictures at parish events, post them to the website (after securing necessary permissions) and document them as the case may be.
- Market, push online giving
- Update parish calendar with the help of the parish office staffs.
